I believe that a novel is more than a story. It should take a reader on a ride into real life that does NOT
end when the book does. When you close a Youngerman Novel, I want you to think about it for a few days.
Peter and Tara Miller are the image of perfection. They have three beautiful children, live
in a wonderful neighborhood, and are still each other’s best friend. When their world
completely disintegrates within a short period of time, their daughter must survive the
aftermath.  Creating a new persona Samantha finally breaks free and discovers that the
real world is not much kinder than her dysfunctional family. Emotionally shattered, the
solace of the ocean, and a loving dog, carry her on her way.

Samantha meets Timothy Bleak, who was raised in a seemingly kind, loving family, but is
virtually invisible to them.  His voice goes unheard, his needs are unmet, and his emotions
are squashed.  Timothy summons the strength to leave his family, and discovers
Samantha in his journey.

Restored Hope follows these two bereft young people as their lives intertwine and they
face the challenges of life, love and happiness together.
The eyes are said to be the window to the soul. Have you ever looked at someone whose
eyes have no light? Follow the journey out of the darkness.
In a space of a moment Bryan Tines’ thought he lost everything that was important to him.
Waking up in a strange place with no recollection of where he came from, or who he was;
lost, hungry and dirty, his life would have been over if not for the kindness of the invisible
layer of society.
Gus Hill was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and alcohol coursing through his veins.
Living on the outside looking in, Gus goes down a path of self-destruction and finds that the
harsh words of a true friend enable him to help himself and others who feel their lives have
no meaning. Through this path, Gus finds what is really important.
Amy Pickens was born into a working class family—a planned and difficult birth—her mother
never let her forget how much of a burden Amy’s life was to her. She became the unwanted
child. Struggling with confidence issues, she accidentally finds happiness which in one
fleeting moment appears to go awry.
A bolt of lightning shattered his dreams and Billy Foster’s life was irrevocably altered
forever. Blamed for his mother’s death he disappears into the clutches of the lightning
monster he is so afraid of. Meanwhile his guilt-ridden brother Wayne is left behind to deal
with the real demons in the world. He floats through life as an invisible speck of dust, rarely
seen by the adults he interacts with as he leaves his childhood behind.

Gwen Nelson is the unwanted child who never gives up hope as time after time people let
her down. All the adults around her think of what’s best for them, never giving her a
second thought, until an angel comes along to help her believe in herself.  Meanwhile her
sister Grace is raised in a loving home.

Follow the four children and three families as they go through horrendous situations.
Children float through life, unnoticed and unheard, desperately keeping the secrets of
their parents. Rarely does anyone bother to take the time and listen.
Nancy thought she had married her Prince Charming. But six years later, she was on the
run with her two young children, trying to escape her abusive, drug-addicted husband. In a
new town, living under new names, the Cooper family begins life anew.

But as the years pass, Nancy’s children begin to question their mother’s motives for
leaving. Her son’s constant recriminations fill her with guilt and give way to the thought that
if they return home, maybe she can put things right. Returning to the place where her
nightmare of a marriage began, she must now face a man whose days have been filled with
twisted thoughts of revenge. As the court turn its back on her, her husband takes steps to
punish her…as he always vowed he would.

Public Lies takes a chilling look at the reality of domestic violence, shedding light and
understanding on a problem in American society that is all-too-often swept under the carpet.
Everyone thinks Nancy Lewiston Cooper has it all: beauty, intelligence, a loving family, a
great husband, and gorgeous children. But reality is seldom as it appears …
In the days before she met her future husband, Vince Cooper, Nancy finished her college
degree and had a bright future ahead of her. But then she met and fell in love with Vince,
and her plans changed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until her honeymoon that Nancy discovered
Vince’s true nature—cruel and abusive one minute, sweet as can be the next.  A dual
personality.
In the months that follow, Nancy falls into a vicious cycle. To avoid the horrible, abusive
confrontations with her husband, she agrees to his lifestyle—drugs, sex, alcohol, and her
complete submissiveness. Nancy believes the only way her husband will change is to have a
baby, and her wish comes true a few months later. But things do not change, even when
Nancy becomes pregnant with their second child.
Feeling isolated, depressed, and fragile, Nancy struggles to hang onto her sanity. When
she is arrested on drug charges, she must go through a two-week counseling session, and
she finally understands the control Vince has over her life. But will she be able to break the
cycle of abuse before it’s too late?

Fiction With A Purpose

One Person Can Make A Difference
A name does not make a person, a person makes a name. Such is the theme of
Disrupted Lives, the story of how one adopted child touches and intersects with many
lives, but ends up destroying one family name, while building another family’s legacy.

Darren and Amelia Kane were high school sweethearts torn apart by war. They reunite
and discover that they both must put their nightmares behind them to build a life
together. Betrayed by her parents, Amelia was forced to give up their child.

Fiona Porter and Sterling Lake are thrown together as part of a business proposition.
They end up surprising both their families by enriching the Lake empire and family
name. The Lakes become synonymous with society, power and money, and their
children must carry that torch forward at all cost. When an adopted grandchild is brought
into the family it questions the definition of ‘family.’

From 1920 to present-day Georgia, this saga of family secrets and old Southern
prejudices are explored in the explosive novel Disrupted Lives.
